Lauren Doubek

Naturalist

Lauren is a proud Pensacola native and has been with Animal Tales for over a year. She recently graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Conservation. She cultivated her passion while studying in South Africa for three months in 2017 with a conservation company on wildlife reserves. While there, she was given the opportunity to research habitats, bird diversity, and large mammals for reserve management usage.

Lauren had a vast range of experiences on land and at sea; like witnessing a mother elephant teach her calf to forage, examining a fresh lion kill, living in quarters with the anti-poaching unit, and diving on magnificent reefs in the Indian Ocean.

In addition to her experience abroad, Lauren has participated in several research studies on the molecular ecology of Florida water systems and has even created her own research project with the National Park Service to gather information on the protection of the endangered Snowy Plover in her hometown of Pensacola.

Lauren’s past experiences and avid promotion of conservational efforts, along with her hard work ethic and respect for all creatures, make her a great fit for our Animal Tales team!
